2.708 Kemensos Employees Absent on the First Day of Work
JAKARTA - Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf stated that he was investigating the causes of 2,708 employees in the Social Ministry environment not going to work without explanation on the first day of entry after the 1447 Hijriah/2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday.
"There are 2,708 employees who are without explanation, there is no permit but also no absence. This number is quite large and we are investigating it through the Secretary General and staff to investigate the cause," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 25.
Gus Ipul explained that the data was obtained after the attendance system was closed at 10.00 WIB.
Based on the total data of 46,090 Kemensos employees, it was recorded that 3,683 people worked in the office (WFO), 5,071 people worked from anywhere (WFA), and 34,284 people worked with a flexible scheme, while 344 others were on leave or sick.
According to the Minister of Social Affairs, absence without explanation is a form of violation of ASN discipline that harms the obligation to show integrity and exemplary behavior.
This is regulated in Government Regulation (PP) Number 94 of 2021 concerning the Discipline of Civil Servants.
"Sanctions will be imposed according to the level of violation, ranging from light, medium, to severe disciplinary punishment. For the light category, the sanction can be in the form of verbal reprimand, written reprimand, or written dissatisfaction from the leadership," he said.
In addition to administrative sanctions, employees who violate it are also threatened with financial sanctions in the form of a reduction in performance allowances (tukin).
According to the Minister of Social Regulation Number 6 of 2023, employees who do not record their attendance when entering and returning to work will be subject to a deduction of 3 percent per day.
Saifullah emphasized that his party had a monitoring application that could accurately measure the level of employee discipline.
This firm step was taken as an effort to educate and learn so that all ASN in the Ministry of Social Affairs comply with applicable laws and regulations.
As a follow-up, the Minister of Social Affairs instructed all employees who were absent without explanation to attend the training call on Thursday (26/3) at 10.00 WIB.
Employees in the Jakarta area are required to physically attend the Jalan Salemba Raya office, while employees outside the city are required to attend online.
