Colombian Military Hercules Plane Crashes, Killing 66 People

JAKARTA - The number of deaths due to a military C-130 Hercules transport plane crash in Putumayo, Colombia, has reached 66 people, according to a Caracol report.

Previously, the broadcaster reported 48 dead in the incident.

Currently, 66 fatalities have been confirmed, 58 of which were from the National Army, six from the Colombian Air Force, and two from the National Police.

According to the report, there were 128 military personnel on board the crashed plane, not 125 as previously reported.

The Colombian Air Force said Monday (23/3) that the Hercules C-130 plane crashed shortly after taking off near Puerto Leguizamo, Putumayo.

The cause of the accident is not yet known and the investigation is still ongoing.
