Sisir Titik Rawan, Polisi Tingkatkan Patroli Obat Ilegal di Jakpus
JAKARTA - The Central Jakarta Metro Police continue to increase patrols and enforcement against the circulation of illegal drugs in the Tanah Abang area.
Head of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Kombes Reynold Hutagalung, emphasized that this step is part of the police's ongoing efforts to suppress the circulation of illegal drugs.
"Our patrols are carried out regularly and improved, both for prevention and law enforcement," he said in a written statement received in Jakarta, Tuesday, March 24.
The latest patrol was held on Monday evening on Jalan KS Tubun, Jati Bunder, Jembatan Tinggi, targeting a number of points considered vulnerable.
Joint personnel from the Narcotics Investigation Unit and Tanah Abang Metro Police were deployed to carry out a search and inspection of a number of suspected people.
Head of Narcotics at the Jakarta Central Metro Police, Wisnu S. Kuncoro, said the patrol was carried out on a mobile basis with a focus on locations that had the potential to become a point of illegal drug circulation.
"We comb a number of vulnerable points. We also conduct field inspections. For the results of this activity, there are still none, both evidence and suspects," he said.
Although they have not found any violations, the police have ensured that patrols will continue to be increased to keep the situation safe and conducive.
The police also invite the public to play an active role in preventing the circulation of illegal drugs by immediately reporting suspicious activities in the surrounding area.
"The role of the community is very important so that the circulation of prohibited drugs can be prevented early," said Reynold.
