Arus Balik Lebaran 2026, BPH Migas: Supply of National Fuel is Safe and Controlled

JAKARTA - The Oil and Gas Upstream Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) ensures that fuel supply is maintained safely and under control throughout Indonesia during the 2026 Lebaran flow.

Member of the BPH Migas Committee Fathul Nugroho, in his statement in Jakarta, Tuesday, said that as of Sunday (22/3/2026), the resilience of national fuel stocks was in adequate condition, both for subsidized and non-subsidized fuels.

The distribution from the Pertamina fuel terminal to various SPBU runs smoothly without obstacles, so that the public can be served well.

Fathul also asked the public not to worry because the fuel stock was safe.

"The government, as directed by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, guarantees the availability of fuel stocks and distribution, especially by Pertamina Patra Niaga, continues to maintain its resilience. Quality monitoring is also routinely carried out and the results are in accordance with government standards, so that the public is expected to feel safe and comfortable," he said as quoted by Antara.

BPH Migas also appreciates Pertamina's performance which is on standby 24 hours to secure fuel stocks and distribution.

Previously, BPH Migas ensured the sustainability of fuel supply on the island of Kalimantan in a safe condition.

Especially in West Kalimantan, since the night of takbir on March 20, 2026, the supply of fuel to gas stations has continued to be increased as a follow-up to the National Coordination Meeting of the ESDM Sector for Ramadhan and Idul Fitri 2026.

A number of gas stations in Pontianak City, West Kalimantan, are also operated 24 hours to reduce queues.

Sales Area Manager of Pertamina Patra Niaga West Kalimantan Widhi Tri Adhi Hidayat said that as of March 23, 2026, the distribution of fuel in West Kalimantan was safe and smooth.

The area which previously experienced long queues due to a surge in demand and panic buying is now gradually normal.

"The queue conditions at various gas stations in Pontianak City and Kubu Raya Regency are normal, while in Mempawah Regency, Singkawang Regency, and Bengkayang Regency are in a moderate condition, while Sambas Regency and Landak Regency are still being worked on to reduce the queue which is still relatively dense," he said.

According to him, during the period from March 9-22, 2026, the distribution of fuel in West Kalimantan was recorded at an average of 2,749 kl/day for Pertalite and Pertamax Series or an increase of 19.8 percent from normal, with a peak increase of 54 percent on March 20, and solar 1,420 kl/day or a decrease of 3.7 percent from normal, with a maximum increase of 20 percent on March 18.

Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Kalimantan also ensures that the supply to SPBU runs smoothly with the addition of tank cars and 24-hour IT Pontianak operations.

Pertamina Patra Niaga Corporate Secretary Roberth MV Dumatubun added that the strengthening of distribution in the West Kalimantan region continues to be carried out comprehensively to ensure that fuel availability is maintained and services run optimally.

"We emphasize that the supply of fuel in West Kalimantan continues to be added and distributed to the maximum. With various efforts being made, the current conditions are gradually conducive. We have also encouraged gas stations to continue to operate optimally and carry out stricter supervision so that services to the public are not disrupted," he said.

Pertamina Patra Niaga together with the local government and law enforcement officers continue to strengthen coordination, including in socialization to the public, as well as taking action against hoarding practices and speculative activities that have the potential to disrupt distribution.

Any indication of deviation will be dealt with firmly in accordance with the applicable provisions to ensure that fuel can be accessed fairly by the public.

If the public finds hoarding practices, they can report through the Pertamina Contact Center 135.

"We are fully committed to ensuring that the energy needs of the community are optimally met throughout Indonesia," said Roberth.
