Support the IKN area, 6,000 clean water connections are targeted in Sepaku

PENAJAM PASER UTARA - The North Penajam Paser Regency Government, East Kalimantan, targets the installation of around 6,000 clean water connections to residents' homes in the Sepaku District, the Nusantara Capital Region (IKN).

Director of the Regional Public Company (Perumda) Drinking Water and Danum Taka Abdul Rasyid said the expansion of the service was also to meet the need for clean water in the IKN office area.

"Expanding the coverage of clean water services, as well as serving the needs of clean water for offices in the IKN area," he said in Penajam, Antara, Tuesday, March 24.

The addition of clean water connections will be served by a water treatment plant (water treatment plant) with a capacity of 50 liters per second built by the Ministry of Public Works in Sepaku District.

The installation is located in the intake area of the Sepaku River and is adjacent to a water treatment facility with a capacity of 300 liters per second which supports the provision of clean water in the IKN area.

The Ministry of Public Works then handed over the installation to the North Penajam Paser Regency Government to be managed by Perumda Air Minum Danum Taka.

However, Abdul Rasyid said that the expansion of services still requires support for the development of distribution pipeline networks in a number of villages and villages in Sepaku District.

The local government hopes that the central government can help build a 60-kilometer pipeline network so that the target of 6,000 clean water connections can be realized gradually.

Currently, the water treatment plant with a capacity of 50 liters per second has served around 400 house connections in Sepaku District.

He hopes that the optimization of these facilities can improve clean water services for the community while supporting the development of the IKN area.
