The Ministry of Transportation asks travelers to maximize WFA to arrange their return to Jakarta.

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation appeals to travelers to maximize the work from anywhere (WFA) policy to manage time when returning to Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) so that they can disperse the peak density of the return flow predicted to occur on March 24, 2026.

"Jasa Marga predicts that on March 24, 2026, around 285 thousand vehicles will return to Jabodetabek through toll roads. We urge the public to be able to take advantage of the WFA time given so that they can return on March 25, 26 or 27," said Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Aan Suhanan as reported by ANTARA, Monday, March 23.

He said the WFA policy applies to people working in the government and SOEs sectors and is urged to be applied in the private sector.

"Our hope is that private entrepreneurs will give their employees the flexibility to use WFA in managing their return time," he said.

According to him, this needs to be a common concern considering the high spike in vehicles that occurred at the peak of the homecoming yesterday. The goal is to provide a sense of comfort for road users and no massive accumulation of vehicles on the road.

He said based on data from Jasa Marga, as of March 22, 2026 at 14.00 WIB, 39.9 percent of vehicles had passed into Jakarta from a total projection of 3.4 million vehicles. This number is calculated from four main toll gates, namely GT Cikupa, GT Ciawi, GT Cikatama and GT Kalihurip Utama.

"We also remind the public to use the rest area as best as possible. Maximize 30 minutes so that you can take turns with others or maximize the rest area which is also outside the toll road," said Aan.

He also emphasized that travelers should not rest on the shoulder of the road because it would be very dangerous, potentially causing traffic accidents and adding to congestion.

"We hope that all stakeholders and the public can work together to create a safe, safe and comfortable return flow," said Aan.
