BPH Migas Guarantees National Fuel Stock is Safe for Reverse Flow
JAKARTA - The Oil and Gas Upstream Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) said that the supply of energy, especially national fuel oil (BBM), is in a very safe condition to meet demand during the return flow from Lebaran homecoming.
"Ahead of the return flow, BPH Migas reiterated that the national fuel stock is in a very safe condition," said BPH Migas Committee Member Fathul Nugroho, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 23.
Fathul appealed to the public to remain calm and not panic buying. He also asked the public to use the Pertamina Delivery Service (PDS) 135 service if they need emergency fuel on the road.
He explained that on March 22, 2026, the resilience of national fuel stocks was in a very adequate condition, both for subsidized and non-subsidized fuels.
"The distribution from the Pertamina Fuel Terminal to various SPBU runs smoothly without obstacles, so that the public can be served well," he said.
Fathul added that monitoring the quality of fuel was also routinely carried out. The results of the monitoring showed that the results were in accordance with government standards, so that it was hoped that the public would feel safe and comfortable.
In addition to national monitoring, BPH Migas also ensures the safety of fuel supply on the island of Kalimantan. Specifically in West Kalimantan, since the night of the 20 March 2026 takbir, fuel supply to gas stations has continued to be increased as a follow-up to the 2026 Ramadhan and Eid al-Fitr National Coordination Meeting (RAFI) for the ESDM Sector.
A number of gas stations in Pontianak City are also operated 24 hours to reduce queues. Based on monitoring as of March 22, 2026, the condition of vehicle queues has gradually improved.
"This step is expected to maintain public comfort, especially during the homecoming and return flow," said Fathul.
Based on the statement of Sales Area Manager of Pertamina Patra Niaga West Kalimantan Widhi Tri Adhi Hidayat, the condition of fuel distribution in the West Kalimantan region as of March 23, 2026, in general, runs safely and smoothly. The area which previously experienced long queues due to spikes in demand and panic buying is now gradually normal.
"The queue conditions at various gas stations in Pontianak City and Kubu Raya Regency are normal, while in Mempawah Regency, Singkawang Regency, and Bengkayang Regency are in a medium condition, while Sambas Regency and Landak Regency are still being worked on to reduce the queue which is still relatively dense," said Widhi.
During the 9-22 March Task Force period, the distribution of fuel was recorded at an average of 2,749 KL per day for Pertalite and Pertamax Series gasoline (up 19.8 percent from normal, with a peak increase of 54 percent on March 20) and 1,420 KL/day for Solar (down 3.7 percent from normal, with a maximum increase of 20 percent on March 18).
"PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Kalimantan ensures that the supply to SPBU runs smoothly with the addition of tank cars and 24-hour IT Pontianak operations," said Widhi.
