5 Hours Search by SAR Team, Arya Teen Found Dead After Drowning in Cileungsi River
BOGOR - A teenager who was swept away in the Cileungsi River, Citeureup District, Bogor Regency, West Java, was found dead after a search was carried out for about five hours by a joint SAR team.
The victim was known as Muhamad Arya Saputra (16), a resident of Ciriung Village, Cibinong District. He was reported to have been swept away while bathing in the river with his family.
Head of the Bogor Regency Fire and Rescue Service Yudi Santosa said that the incident report was received at 09.00 WIB from local residents, then the team immediately moved to the location.
"The victim was swept away in the Cileungsi River while bathing with his family, then carried away by the current to the middle of the river," he said in Bogor, Antara, Sunday, March 21.
The Bogor Regency BPBD Rapid Response Team (TRC) departed from the main command headquarters at 09.30 WIB and arrived at the location at around 11.00 WIB. The search operation began at 12.00 WIB with the method of land search and evacuation efforts along the river.
During the search process, officers coordinated with local authorities and involved various elements, including the BPBD, Fire Department, Basarnas, TNI, Polri, Satpol PP, village apparatus, SAR volunteers, and the community.
The search efforts were carried out intensively by combing the river area and the points suspected to be the location where the victim was caught. The team also prepared supporting equipment such as water rescue equipment and diving equipment.
After a search for about five hours, the victim was finally found by the joint SAR team at 16.50 WIB.
"The victim has been found by the joint SAR team and immediately taken to the funeral home in the Ciriung area," said Yudi.
