Prevent Serious Traffic, Angkot Temporarily Stopped on Puncak Tourist Route
BOGOR - The Bogor Regency Transportation Office prohibits city transportation (angkot) from passing through the Puncak Line by implementing a blockade at Simpang Gadog, Ciawi, Bogor Regency, West Java, Sunday, March 22.
This policy was implemented to control traffic density in the Puncak tourist area during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday period.
Head of Traffic Section of Bogor Regency Dishub Dadang Kosasih said that officers took firm action by turning the angkot upside down who still tried to pass.
"Yes, our angkot is turned around in Gadog because there is a blockade," he said as quoted by Antara, Sunday, March 22.
He explained that this policy was a follow-up to the direction of the West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi regarding the prohibition of angkot passing on the Puncak tourist route during the Lebaran holiday.
In its implementation, officers still found a number of angkot trying to enter the Puncak area, including those carrying passengers in bulk.
"Bring passengers, it is a bulk. But we still turn it around, it can't operate or pass through the Puncak tourist route," said Dadang.
He emphasized that the ban applies to all angkot without exception, both within the Bogor Regency area and outside the area.
"All angkot cannot enter Puncak," he said.
According to him, the rules also include angkot with a charter status, so that all types of urban transportation operations are still not allowed to pass through the route.
Officers are on alert for 24 hours to ensure that the policy runs optimally and traffic flows remain under control.
Previously, the West Java Provincial Government had temporarily suspended the operation of angkot on the Puncak line for five days during the 2026 Lebaran holiday period to reduce the potential for congestion.
The policy was also accompanied by the provision of compensation of Rp. 1 million to each driver and owner of angkot who did not operate.
The program targets 2,068 angkot drivers serving routes in the Puncak area. The cessation of operations was carried out on March 22, 23, 24, 27, and 28.
