From Tradition to Harmony, the Meaning of Eid According to Fadli Zon

JAKARTA - Minister of Culture Fadli Zon said the tradition of greeting each other on Eid al-Fitr is a momentum to strengthen social harmony in society.

"Through warm and family-like interactions, Eid al-Fitr is not only a religious celebration, but also a space to strengthen social harmony in the midst of diversity," said Fadli in a press statement quoted by Antara Jakarta on Sunday, March 22.

"Idulfitri is a momentum to return to purity, strengthen ties, and strengthen the spirit of brotherhood," he added.

He explained that there are various traditions of celebrating Eid al-Fitr in various regions in Indonesia, but these traditions are aimed at strengthening brotherhood, maintaining togetherness, and improving social harmony.

The Minister of Culture hopes that this year's Eid al-Fitr celebration can bring unity, togetherness, and social harmony in Indonesia.

The Minister of Culture on the first day of the 1447 Hijri Eid celebration received a visit from a number of members of the public and cultural figures at his residence in Jakarta.

After that, he attended a gathering with President Prabowo Subianto and members of the Red and White Cabinet at the State Palace.
