Newcomers in Jakarta Asked to Prepare Personal Documents

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung asked people who want to work in the capital after Lebaran homecoming to prepare their own documents.

He emphasized that although his party would not carry out judicial operations against new immigrants, the completeness of the self-document would still be a duty.

"Yes, as I have repeatedly said, there is no judicial operation in Jakarta, but we ask anyone who wants to work in Jakarta, of course, to complete themselves with all administrative requirements," said Pramono at the City Hall, Jakarta, Saturday, March 21, reported by ANTARA.

In addition, prospective newcomers are also asked to work according to their respective capacities.

"And then also work according to its capabilities," said Pramono.

His party also predicts a surge in new arrivals to Jakarta after Lebaran homecoming to find work.

"Indeed, now we also suspect that there will be a surge of people looking for work in Jakarta," concluded Pramono.

Previously, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government predicted that 10 thousand to 12 thousand people would come to Jakarta after Lebaran 2026.

The Special Staff of the Governor of DKI Jakarta for Social Communication, Chico Hakim, said that there was a decrease in the number of new arrivals in Jakarta from year to year. The decline was influenced by current economic and geopolitical conditions.

From 2022 to 2025, the number of new arrivals in Jakarta after Lebaran has successively decreased from 27 thousand to 16 thousand people.
