Chronology And Problems Of Indonesian Crews On Chinese Ships
JAKARTA - The case of ABK (Ship's crew) from Indonesia on a Chinese ship is very busy being discussed. The alleged exploitation of this case has become the focus of the problem. Now all of Indonesia wants to know how strong the diplomacy of our country is for the welfare of its people.
This case became widely heard after an explanatory video from the Korean YouTube channel Reomit explained the news broadcast by MBC, a television station in South Korea. In the video, you can see one of the crew members from Indonesia whose body is being carried. In addition, the video also states that there are allegations of exploitation taking place.
A Twitter account named AL claimed to have been a crew member on a Japanese fishing boat for 3 years. He told of his experience which was indeed hard and dangerous, but the treatment of the Indonesian crew members who were reported was much worse.

In international maritime practice, the act of removing bodies is justified with the aim of maintaining the health of other crew members. If a crew member dies in the middle of the sea, it is impossible for the ship to sail for 3 months to turn back. It is also not advisable to keep a corpse for months. However, in this case, the crew members who worked there had signed a statement in which it was written that if they died, their bodies would be cremated where the ship was leaning with a note that the ashes would be returned to Indonesia.
However, it was later discovered that a more plausible reason for these ships to choose to sail at sea than to cremate was that they could not easily dock in port due to their illegal work practices.
