Putin Congratulates Idulfitri 1447 H, Highlights the Positive Role of Muslim Organizations in Russia
JAKARTA - President Vladimir Putin conveyed Eid al-Fitr 1447 H greetings to all Muslims, especially in Russia who have always contributed to the development of the country.
In a written statement by President Putin via the Russian Embassy in Jakarta, monitored Saturday, 21 Mare, Putin recognized Eid al-Fitr as a moment for Muslims "to uphold the values of generosity and compassion, and to remind them of the timeless values of Islam".
"I want to emphasize that Russian Muslims uphold the historical and spiritual traditions of the heritage of their ancestors and widely celebrate this holiday in the community and in the family environment," Putin said, quoted via Antara.
Muslims in Russia consistently hold various charitable, cultural, educational, and children's events on a large scale during Ramadan, which Putin called a good tradition.
Muslim organizations have made constructive contributions to strengthening family institutions, nurturing the younger generation, and developing constructive dialogue with state and society institutions.
They also always pay great attention to the implementation of various patriotic, educational, and humanitarian initiatives, said Putin.
"My special words of appreciation go to the followers of Islam who shoulder-to-shoulder with their comrades-in-arms defend the freedom and independence of the country," said the Russian President.
He also praised Muslims who always provide support to their families and closest people, especially to the country's heroes.
Putin expressed hope that Muslims in Russia would always have health, success, and the best of everything.
The Muslim community in Russia is known to have celebrated Eid al-Fitr 1447 H, which marked the end of the holy month of Ramadan, on March 20, 2026.
