Trump: NATO Coward!
JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump again boasted on social media accounts by calling NATO countries cowards following the lack of support for the defense pact against the US-Israeli war against Iran.
"Without the US, NATO is just a piece of paper!" Trump said on the Truth Social social media, Friday, March 20, quoted from NBC News.
Trump was disappointed that NATO, which has 32 countries including the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, Germany and Italy, Turkey, Belgium, Spain and Canada, refused to help the US-Israeli massive attack on Iran, which has disrupted the world's oil supply across the Strait of Hormuz.
"Now that the battle has been won militarily, with little danger to them, they complain about the high oil prices they are forced to pay, but do not want to help open the Strait of Hormuz," he said.
Trump, who continues to speculate about US-Israeli operations in Iran, has again claimed that NATO would face "very little risk" if it were involved in the military operation, which was also echoed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
"Simple military maneuvers, which are the only reason for the high price of oil. It's easy for them to do, with very little risk," Trump claimed.
"SCUM, and we will REMEMBER!" hardik Trump.
Trump has called on US allies to help secure the delivery of supplies to the world's energy sources across the Strait of Hormuz, which has become a war zone following the US-Israeli attack on Iran.
Iran has effectively blocked the vital waterway as the US-Israel bombs Tehran amid US-Iranian nuclear negotiations brokered by Oman.
When the US-Israeli attack on Iran began on February 28, 2026, Trump was known to have not consulted and did not inform US allies about it.
