IRGC Spokesperson Killed in US-Israeli Attack

JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Ali Mohammad Naini, was killed in an attack launched by the United States and Israel against Iran.

"Ali Mohammad Naini was killed on the last morning of Ramadan in a criminal and cowardly attack by the US and Israel," the IRGC said in a statement broadcast by Iran's state television station, reported by Sputnik, Friday, March 20.

The IRGC announced the launch of the 67th wave of attacks against US and Israeli military facilities in response to the killing of the spokesman.

On February 28, the US and Israel launched an attack on targets in Iran, including in Tehran, which caused damage and civilian casualties. Iran responded by attacking Israeli territory and US military facilities in the Middle East.

Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed on the first day of the military operation.

Other senior Iranian military and political figures killed in the past three weeks include Armed Forces Chief of Staff Abdolrahim Mousavi, Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh, Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib, IRGC commander Mohammad Pakpour, National Defense Council Secretary Ali Shamkhani, and National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani.
