Pelindo Benoa Reopens After Nyepi, Dutch Cruise Ship Anchors
DENPASAR - Pelindo branch of Benoa Port, Denpasar, Bali, reopened after being closed for 24 hours during Holy Day of Silence with serving Dutch-flagged cruise ships.
"Pelindo ensures that port operations can resume optimally after the Nyepi period, while continuing to support the smooth flow of homecoming and tourism activities," said General Manager of Benoa Port Anak Agung Gde Agung Mataram in Denpasar, Friday, March 20.
The MS Volendam cruise ship docked at the Benoa Port in Denpasar at 07.00 WITA on Friday, or one hour after the port reopened after Nyepi.
The 237-meter-long cruise ship was carrying 975 passengers and 617 crew members serving the route from Australia to Singapore.
Before stopping at Benoa, Bali, the cruise ship had stopped at Komodo Island and departed for Benoa Port to moor for one night and then to Singapore is scheduled for Saturday (21/3) at 17.00 WITA.
Agung added that his party had made arrangements to ensure the smooth running of homecoming transportation and also cruise ships before and after Nyepi.
"Operational adjustments are carried out by prioritizing safety, security, and the smooth service of ships and passengers," he said.
On the other hand, Benoa Port has also served the 2026 Lebaran transportation passenger flow, with the departure of Pelni passenger ships to a number of areas in Nusa Tenggara which shows an increase in community mobility ahead of the holiday.
During the establishment of the Lebaran 2026 transportation post, the homecoming flow in Benoa was served by three ships owned by BUMN Pelni.
Lebaran transportation at Benoa Port is served by three fleets, namely KM Awu, Tilongkabila and Binaiya.
Meanwhile, the Leuser KM was diverted to help the more crowded passenger flow during Lebaran homecoming at other ports.
Based on provisional data for the period from March 7 to April 7, 2026, Benoa Port is projected to serve around 4,480 passengers with a total of eight ship visits.
The projection is down compared to the 2025 Lebaran transportation period, when Benoa Port served 7,424 passengers.
