Ukraine-Russia Negotiations to Resume in the US Tomorrow
JAKARTA - President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine's negotiating team would hold a meeting on resolving the conflict with Russia in the United States on Saturday, March 21.
"There was a pause in the talks, and now it's time to continue. We are making every effort to ensure that the negotiations are really substantive. The Ukrainian team - political members of the negotiating group - is already on the way, and we expect a meeting this Saturday in the United States," Zelenskyy said on Telegram, Thursday, March 19, reported by ANTARA from Sputnik.
Zelenskyy said Kyiv recently received signals from the US about the possibility of resuming negotiations to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
On March 15, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said negotiations on Ukraine had been suspended, as the US had shifted its focus to the Middle East. Peskov later said Russia was waiting for a new round of talks, adding that the place and time had not been determined for "obvious reasons."
Since the beginning of the year, Russian and Ukrainian delegations, with the participation of the United States, have held three rounds of talks. The latest took place in Geneva on February 17-18.
