Airlangga Hartarto: Government Does Not Want to Increase the State Budget Deficit Limit

Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto emphasized that the government did not want to change the deficit limit of the State Budget (APBN) in responding to the global oil price increase due to the escalation in the Middle East.

This was conveyed by Airlangga Hartarto after a meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Thursday, March 19. Airlangga said the government would continue to maintain the ABPN deficit through operational expenditure efficiency and increased state revenues.

With these efforts, continued Airlangga, the government targets the deficit to remain below 3 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), in accordance with the mandate of Law No. 17 of 2023 concerning State Finances.
