US Approves Plans to Sell Long-Range Radar to Anti-Drone Systems to UAE

JAKARTA - The US State Department said its country approved the possible sale of long-range radars, anti-drone systems, F-16 ammunition, and other equipment worth billions of dollars to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

"The US State Department has made a decision to approve the possible sale to the government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) of Long-Range Discrimination Radar (LRDR) with the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system, and related equipment for an estimated cost of 4.5 billion US dollars (about Rp76.1 trillion)," according to the statement. reported by ANTARA from Sputnik, Friday, March 20.

In three other statements, the department wrote that it plans to sell Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM) and related equipment for an estimated cost of $1.22 billion (about Rp20.6 trillion).

Then, they also plan to sell the Fixed Site- Low, Slow, Small Unmanned Aircraft Integrated Defeat System (FS-LIDS) and related equipment with an estimated total cost of 2.10 billion US dollars (about Rp35.4 trillion), as well as ammunition and F-16 updates worth 644 million US dollars (about Rp10.8 trillion) to the UAE.
