Arus Mudik on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road Reaches 1.3 Million Vehicles until H-2
JAKARTA - PT Marga Mandalasakti (MMS) as the manager of the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road (Tamer) said that the traffic volume of traffic passing through the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road (Tamer) during the homecoming period from H-9 to H-2 Lebaran 2026/Idul Fitri 1447 Hijriah reached 1,324,710 vehicles.
"The total traffic flow passing through the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road has accumulated 1,324,710 vehicles," said Head of the CSR and Public Relations Management Department of Astra Toll Tangerang-Merak PT MMS, Uswatun Hasanah, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, March 20.
According to him, the number of vehicle crossings in this period has increased by about 7 percent compared to the same period in 2025. The increase in vehicle traffic volume is an average of 159,712 vehicles per day.
"This is 7.0 percent higher than the same period last year, or down 2.3 percent from the normal daily traffic average (LHR)," he said.
He said, based on the number of crossings at each toll gate (GT), among others, at the Cikupa Toll Road, in the period from 11 to 18 March 2026, it reached 350,148 vehicles.
"With a daily traffic of 42,369 vehicles, down 17.2 percent compared to the same period in 2025, or 15.9 percent lower than the normal daily average traffic (LHR)," he said.
Meanwhile, for the outgoing traffic flow (Exit) at the Merak Toll Gate to the Merak Port and its surroundings, a total of 101,441 vehicles have passed through the road section.
"And specifically on March 18, 2026, the traffic volume reached 14,809 vehicles, down 24.2 percent compared to the same period in 2025, but up 62.4 percent compared to normal LHR," he said.
In this case, MMS has projected that for the Lebaran homecoming period this year, there will be as many as 3.5 million vehicles crossing the Tangerang-Merak toll road.
"Of the 3.5 million vehicles, he continued, leaving Jabodetabek with the goal of going to Sumatra Island, which is predicted to increase traffic compared to the same period last year, reaching 3.4 million," he said.
"So it's around 2.5 to 2.8 percent higher than the total volume of goods in 2025," he said.
Meanwhile, he said, for the peak of the Lebaran homecoming, especially on toll roads, it is predicted to occur on March 18-19, 2026. During this period, vehicle traffic has increased significantly.
"If the peak of the homecoming flow, we predict on March 19. Because if you look at the traffic flow to the Tangerang-Merak section, it is on average to the Merak Port," said Uswatun.
