PDIP Secretary General Hasto Reveals the Contents of the Prabowo - Megawati Meeting: Geopolitics to State Priorities are Discussed
JAKARTA - The meeting between President Prabowo Subianto and Megawati Sukarnoputri at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Thursday, March 19, lasted more than two hours. PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said the meeting was not just a social gathering, but discussed various important issues that the country was facing.
"Megawati's mother said this was a meeting of old friends," Hasto said in a written statement received on Thursday, March 19.
The atmosphere was said to be familiar. However, the content of the conversation was not light. Hasto said, Prabowo and Megawati discussed various national issues, including the geopolitical situation that Indonesia is currently facing.
According to Hasto, Megawati also conveyed her views based on her experience in handling multidimensional crises. During the meeting, the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia emphasized the importance of urgency and priority determination.
"He conveyed various things related to the sense of urgency, sense of priority," said Hasto.
For PDIP, this meeting is considered a good thing. Hasto sees that communication between leaders is maintained in the midst of an uneasy situation.
He said that traditions of meetings like this need to be maintained. The goal is for the benefit of the people, nation, and country.
