KCIC Predicts Ticket Sales Reach 20 Thousand Per Day During Eid Homecoming

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) predicts that tickets for the Whoosh train sold can reach 20 thousand per day during the 2026 Lebaran homecoming.

General Manager of Corporate Secretary KCIFHC Eva Chairunisa said the increase in passenger numbers was inseparable from the call for flexible work policy (WFA) which took effect starting Sunday (15/3), the school holidays, and joint leave.

"The increase in the number of passengers shows that people are now more free to plan Eid trips and are not only focused on the days leading up to Eid," Eva told ANTARA in Jakarta, Thursday.

He revealed that the temporary peak in Whoosh ticket sales before Lebaran occurred on Wednesday (18/3) which reached 19 thousand passengers.

Meanwhile, for departure on Thursday, he continued, tickets that have been sold until noon have reached around 16 thousand tickets.

He estimated that the number would continue to increase because ticket sales were still ongoing until the last departure time.

As of Monday (16/3) at 21.00 WIB, Eva revealed that the total tickets sold reached around 133 thousand tickets for the travel period from March 13, 2026 to March 30, 2026.

KCIC appeals to the public to immediately make Whoosh ticket reservations, especially online for passenger convenience.

The reason is, according to him, ticket sales will still continue to move, especially for departures in the period approaching Lebaran.

"We urge the public to immediately make reservations from now on to get the desired travel schedule and avoid running out of tickets on favorite dates," he said.

Tickets for the Lebaran transportation period can be ordered through all official sales channels, namely the Whoosh application, the official ticket.kcic.co.id website, and partner applications such as Access by KAI, Livin' by Mandiri, BRImo, Wondr by BNI, Tiket.com, Traveloka, and Trip.com.
