52 Thousand Travelers Depart from Jakarta Daop 1 Station H-2 Lebaran
JAKARTA - More than 52 thousand passengers departed from train stations in the PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Daop 1 Jakarta region for Thursday or H-2 Lebaran.
"KAI Daop 1 Jakarta has recorded 52,330 tickets have been sold for today's departure from various stations in the Daop 1 area, including Pasar Senen and Gambir Stations," said PTKAI Regional Public Relations Manager (Daop) 1 Jakarta, Franoto Wibowodi Senen Station, Jakarta, Thursday, March 19 reported by ANTARA.
Meanwhile, the number of passengers arriving reached 27,741 people. Cumulatively, the total departure during the period of March 11-19 has reached 430,977 passengers.
Franoto explained that the number is still potentially increasing until midnight. "Usually from the morning until later at midnight there is an increase of between 500 to 1,000 other passengers," he said.
Pasar Senen Station became the second most crowded departure point after the highest achievement on H-3 yesterday which reached 53,576 passengers.
Pasar Senen Station was observed to be crowded with passengers since the morning. In the departure area, hundreds of passengers with luggage, ranging from suitcases, backpacks to cardboard boxes were seen.
Many passengers were seen sitting in the waiting room while taking care of their belongings and waiting for the departure schedule to their respective destinations. However, the limited number of seats made a number of passengers forced to sit on the floor of the station.
One of the passengers, Yogi Irawan (38) admitted that he chose to leave near Lebaran because he had just got a holiday. He and his family are planning to go home to their hometown in Malang, East Java.
"Actually, it has been off since yesterday, but I got the ticket for departure today," said Yogi.
He added that homecoming with family is a tradition that is almost always done every year for socializing with most of his family.
PT KAI Daop1 Jakarta provides a total seating capacity of 1,083,623 seats. It is recorded that as many as 756,929 tickets have been sold for the period of March 11-April 1, 2026.
Franoto said the average occupancy (seat filling) period from March 11 to April 1, 2026, was 70 percent (dynamic data).
KAI Daop 1 Jakarta operates 68 regular long-distance train trips per day, 12 additional trains from Gambir Station, seven additional trains from Pasar Senen Station, and four free Motor Train trips.
