DKI Jakarta Government Holds Car Free Night During Takbiran Night

JAKARTA - The Jakarta Provincial Government will hold a Car Free Night on MH Thamrin Street-Sudirman Street from 20.00 WIB to 22.00 WIB on Friday, March 20. This activity is to present a different and cheerful atmosphere of the night of takbir with the theme "Eid Mubarak Jakarta: Rhythm of Fountain".

"I have agreed to the activities that night starting at 20.00 WIB until 22.00 WIB, we will hold an event called Car Free Night," said Governor Pramono at the Jakarta City Hall, quoted from a written statement, Thursday, March 19.

A series of events have been prepared to enliven the night in the area of Hotel Indonesia Roundabout (HI) and its surroundings. The details are Rampak Bedug, Festival 1.000 Bedug, torch parade of 5.000 participants, to visual attractions such as dancing fountains, lighting shows, laser shows, and flying LED shows to tausiyah by Ustadz Akri and Hadad Alwi's special appearance.

Pramono explained that this program was designed not only as entertainment but also as part of the "Mudik to Jakarta" innovation which invites the public to celebrate Eid al-Fitr with a more open, warm, and inclusive atmosphere of the Capital City.

Later, the Jakarta Provincial Government will carry out traffic engineering with strict restrictions on private vehicles on a number of road sections around the activity location. This policy is taken to ensure the comfort and safety of visitors during the event.

However, public access is still maintained through public transportation services, including Transjakarta. So, anyone who wants to come can enliven the night of takbiran with discipline and full of togetherness.

"Private vehicles are not allowed to enter, but Transjakarta will continue to operate so that people can continue to be active and enjoy the event," concluded Pramono.
