H-2 Lebaran Motor Commuter Queue at Ciwandan Cilegn Mengular

JAKARTA - Entering H-2 Lebaran on Thursday morning, the area of Ciwandan Port, Cilegon City, Banten, was filled with motorcyclists who wanted to cross from Java Island to Sumatra Island.

Based on monitoring at the location around 03.00 WIB, the wave of arrival of two-wheeled vehicles continues to experience a significant increase as the holiday period for workers approaches.

This condition caused as many as 12 lanes of the buffer zone which had been provided by the port to be filled with thousands of motorcyclists.

So crowded with the volume of vehicles that came at the same time in the early morning, the queue of travelers seemed to be long and long inside the Ciwandan Port area.

This density of homecoming traffic has a direct impact on operational waiting time, where users of the crossing service must be willing to queue for quite some time before they can enter the ship deck.

One of the motorcyclists, Doni Irawan, from Tangerang to Lampung confirmed this condition, saying that this surge occurred due to the simultaneous holiday schedule.

"It was around one o'clock (morning), it's already three o'clock, still waiting to get on the boat. Many workers who have just been on vacation, that's why it's so crowded," said the traveler at the location reported by ANTARA.

Meanwhile, the high flow of homecoming is in line with PT Pelindo's real-time data on March 19 at 11.24 WIB, which recorded the number of two-wheeled vehicles passing had reached 19,666 units, accompanied by the movement of 30,489 passengers and 341 truck fleets.
