DKI Residents Asked to Maintain Security During Lebaran Holidays
JAKARTA - The people and the DKI Jakarta regional government are asked to increase vigilance and maintain security, peace and public order during the homecoming period and the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah/2026 Masehi.
This is in accordance with the Circular Letter (SE) of the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of the DKI Jakarta Province Number 14/SE/2026 dated March 13, 2026 which was issued directly by the Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung.
"Idul Fitri is a holy momentum that must be celebrated in a safe, peaceful and inclusive atmosphere. Let's together keep Jakarta conducive," said the Special Staff of the Governor and Deputy Governor of Jakarta for Public Communication, Chico Hakim, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, March 19.
Chico explained that Pramono had also instructed all mayors and regents in the DKI Jakarta Province to optimize the role of their respective regions through cross-regional coordination.
The following are the concrete steps mandated in the Circular Letter of the DKI Jakarta Regional Secretary Number 14/SE/2026:
1. Mobilizing all elements of society through community institutions, community/religious leaders, youth leaders and community partnership forums in anticipating security, safety and order disturbances such as fights, motorcycle gangs, firecrackers and the like.
2. Re-activate the Environmental Security System (Siskamling) in each RT/RW to be aware of and prevent various potential disturbances of security, peace and public order.
3. Appeals to the public who carry out homecoming before leaving home to ensure that they are safe, including:
a. the doors and windows of the house are locked properly
b. turn off the electricity and unnecessary electronic devices
c. ensure the stove is turned off and the gas regulator is detached
d. entrusting pets at animal boarding facilities during the 1447 H/2026 M Eid al-Fitr homecoming rush.
4. Ensuring that there are no piles of garbage in the environment during the 1447 H/2026 M Eid al-Fitr.
5. Provide parking lots at the Mayor/Regent's Office, Sub-district Head and Village Head as a place to store vehicles during the 1447 H/2026 M Eid al-Fitr homecoming flow from March 18 to March 24, 2026 without charge.
6. Coordinate and form picket and standby in their respective areas to anticipate various threats of disasters and security disturbances during the 1447 H/2026 M Eid al-Fitr homecoming flow.
7. Appeals to new arrivals to report to the local RT/RW managers within 1×24 hours after arriving in DKI Jakarta Province.
