Azerbaijan Sends 82 Tons of Food and Medicine Aid to Iran
JAKARTA - Azerbaijan sent an additional 82 tons of humanitarian aid to Iran, the APA news agency reported on Wednesday (18/3).
The aid was sent via five trucks carrying 76 tons of food and 6 tons of medicine and medical equipment.
On March 11, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations stated that more than 25 tons of humanitarian aid had been sent to Iran at the instruction of President Ilham Aliyev.
On February 28, the US and Israel launched an attack on a number of targets in Iran, including in Tehran, which caused damage and killed civilians.
Iran retaliated by attacking Israeli territory and US military facilities across the Middle East.
The US and Israel initially claimed that the "preemptive strike" was necessary to counter the threat from Iran's nuclear program, but later they said that the goal was to change the ruling regime in Iran.
