Real Conditions of the Community Reflect Economic Resilience
JAKARTA - Political communication expert, Hendri Satrio, reminded the government, especially the Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, that the indicators of Indonesia's economic resilience are not only seen from macro stability, but also the real conditions of the community.
"Hopefully Mr. Purbaya will read this. Believe me, Mr. Purbaya, if the economy of the Indonesian people's families is not immediately improved, the government will continue to receive negative pressure," he said, Wednesday, March 18.
According to him, the government cannot assess the Indonesian economic condition only from the value of the rupiah exchange rate which is still strong amid global turmoil, including conflicts in the Middle East. Because, the fundamental strength of the Indonesian economy cannot be seen from the government's claim that the impact of the conflict in the Middle East on the rupiah is relatively small, with a depreciation of only around 0.3 percent.
Therefore, Hensat asked the government to immediately present policies that have a real impact on the community. "Please do something good and impactful," he added.
The founder of the KedaiKOPI Survey Institute also suggested that the Minister of Finance, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, should focus more on real work rather than making many statements in the public space. He even reminded the leadership style of a number of previous finance ministers who were known to work more than talk.
Previously, Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa assessed that a number of economic analyses about Indonesia circulating on social media such as TikTok and YouTube were not based on complete data. He alluded to a narrative that said Indonesia's economy would collapse if the world oil price soared due to global turmoil. According to Purbaya, the conclusion is unfounded because it does not see the experience and historical data of the Indonesian economy.
