Perpetrator of Water Spraying Hard Arrested in Makassar

JAKARTA - The police arrested a man with the initials A (35) who dared to pour hot water on his ex-girlfriend, a woman with the initials U (38) because he was upset that his love was broken in Makassar, South Sulawesi.

"This perpetrator was secured in relation to the persecution by watering the victim with hard water. So the story, according to the perpetrator, was motivated by a grudge against the victim (decided)," said Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit (Kanit Reskrim) of the Tamalate Police, Iptu Abdul Latif in Makassar, Tuesday.

The incident occurred on Monday (16/3/2026) evening. The perpetrator admitted that he deliberately came to Makassar and looked for a victim. Then came to his house on Jalan Deppasawi, Tamalate District, after knowing his whereabouts.

The perpetrator committed the evil act at the victim's house. After committing the act, the perpetrator fled the victim's house.

The family also reported the incident to the Tamalate Police. After receiving the report, the Unit Resmob Team of the Police was assisted by Polrestasbes personnel who immediately carried out an investigation until the perpetrator was finally arrested after being chased down on Jalan Tanjung Bunga Makassar on Tuesday morning.

The perpetrator and the victim had previously had a very close relationship. However, recently they were estranged and the victim decided to leave the perpetrator six months ago.

The perpetrator felt that he did not accept it and tried to reconcile but was rejected by the victim. Until finally he came to Makassar to commit this heinous act.

"The place where it was poured was at the victim's house, in his bedroom. So, when pouring it, according to the victim, he opened the window," he said.

"The perpetrator knocked (the window) and there was a sound, then the victim saw it out. "It was thought to be a cat, then the window was opened a little and immediately poured hard water into it," he said.

The victim was immediately rushed to the Bayangkara Makassar hospital after the incident. The impact of the hard water spray made the victim's entire body suffer from burns and was treated intensively.

"So, the burns were all over his body according to the photos at the hospital. Meanwhile, treatment was carried out at Bhayangkara Hospital Makassar," he said.

For the evidence seized in the form of used plastic gloves, a book containing handwritten notes by the perpetrator stating that the victim was cheating on others. Even accusing the victim without evidence of having sex with others at the inn.

The victim's family members cried and were very angry at the heinous act after the perpetrator was taken to the local police station.
