The Deputy Governor of North Maluku conveyed strategic proposals to the IKN Authority, from tourism to connectivity

JAKARTA - The Deputy Governor (Wagub) of North Kalimantan (Kaltara) held a meeting with the Head of the Nusantara Capital Authority (IKN), Basuki Hadimuljono to discuss the integration of development in Kaltara with the development of IKN.

In the meeting attended by the head of adat, Kenyah adat figures as well as the National Dayak Intellectual Association (ICDN) Kaltara and a number of heads of regional devices from the Provincial Government (Pemprov) Kaltara and Bulungan Regency. The Deputy Governor of Ingkong expressed his appreciation and thanks for the willingness of the Head of the IKN Authority to accept the regional government delegation and representatives of the Kenyah indigenous people from Kaltara.

"Previously, the Governor of North Maluku (Zainal A Paliwang) also conveyed greetings to the head of the IKN Authority, he could not join the entourage because of other important agendas in North Maluku," said Deputy Governor Ingkong.

The Deputy Governor of Ingkong revealed that his party hopes that the development in Kaltara can be integrated with the development and development of IKN.

"This integration is very important so that it can encourage Kaltara's position as an hinterland region that supports the economic growth and development of the new capital city area or IKN," said Ingkong Ala.

"Specifically, the North Kalimantan Provincial Government has submitted a number of strategic support to the IKN Authority. Among them are support for the development of the tourism sector, including the strengthening of customary villages, the preservation of traditional culture and the development of natural tourism in the North Kalimantan region," he continued.

In addition, the North Kalimantan Provincial Government also asked for support for the development of the Kayan Mentarang National Park in the Heart of Borneo (HoB) concept as a center for biodiversity studies, biodiversity research, and a high conservation value area.

"In the connectivity sector, we also propose the strengthening of international flight routes such as the Tawau, Kinabalu, Miri to Brunei Darussalam routes to Tarakan, Balikpapan and IKN. So that this route makes Tarakan Juwata Airport as an air gateway to the territory of the Republic of Indonesia in the border area.

"The provincial government also asks for support to accelerate the development of telecommunications networks in the Kaltara region, which is Indonesia's leading region or the front door of the Republic of Indonesia," said Governor Ingkong.

Not only that, Ingkong Ala also proposed the construction of cross-border road connectivity in Apau Kayan, including the PLBN Long Ampung, Long Nawang, Sungai Boh (Malianu Regency) to Long Bagun, Tering, Sendawar, Blusuh, Gunung Bayan, Resak III to IKN.

"It is clear.

"Then, the PLBN Labang to Mansalong section to Malinau, the planned PLBN Long Midang section to Binuang and Malinau as a distribution route for goods and community mobility,"

He added that another proposal that was also conveyed was the support for the development diplomacy of Kaltara as a border province and the gateway to the Republic of Indonesia through the improvement of the quality of human resources of indigenous people.

Responding to various proposals, the Head of the IKN Authority Basuki Hadimuljono expressed his appreciation for the attention and commitment of the Provincial Government of North Maluku to integrate regional potential with the development of IKN.

Basuki even proposed that the strategic cooperation between the IKN Authority and the Provincial Government of North Maluku be formalized in official regulations.

"We will formulate cooperation between the IKN Authority and the Provincial Government of North Maluku in the form of a Regulation of the Head of the IKN Authority, so that North Maluku can become a development partner of the IKN," said Basuki.

"The follow-up technical cooperation will be discussed soon by representatives of each party," he concluded.

After the meeting, the Deputy Governor of North Maluku together with the entourage visited the State Palace complex in the IKN area which was directly led by Basuki Hadimuljono together with the IKN Authority deputies. (*)
