JNT Courier Nyambi Selling Marijuana via Instagram, Arrested by Police when he wanted to COD
JAKARTA - A courier for a freight delivery service was arrested by members of the Sunda Kelapa Police Criminal Investigation Unit for being a dealer of dried marijuana.
When arrested, the suspect with the initials A (36) resident of Luar Batang, Penjaringan was caught carrying one package of ready-to-use marijuana.
The suspect was arrested while walking on Jalan Patung Udang Rusun Lama, RT 11/11, Muara Angke, Pluit Village, Penjaringan, North Jakarta.
"From the suspect's statement, he was determined to become a distributor to find additional income for personal needs," said the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Sunda Kelapa Police, Iptu Indra Basuki when confirmed.
The evidence seized was one package of oil paper wrapped in marijuana weighing 17.74 grams and a mobile phone.
The arrest was carried out by the operational team of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Sunda Kelapa Police. Previously, the police received a report from the community regarding the illegal circulation of marijuana in the Muara Angke area, North Jakarta.
After an investigation, the police then arrested suspect A and conducted a search at the scene. The police found a package of marijuana wrapped in oil paper.
"According to the statement of suspect A, he got the marijuana from a man with the initials R (DPO) by buying it in cash for Rp. 250 thousand," he said.
Suspect A bought in the Gang Kancil area, West Jakarta.
Ironically, suspect A marketed the marijuana through an Instagram social media account named AUTHENTIC LION.IDN.
For further processing, the suspect was taken to the Sunda Kelapa Police.
"The suspect is a JNT courier. He has been a drug dealer for the umpteenth time, but he has only been arrested for the first time," he said.
For his actions, the suspect was charged with Article 114 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics Jo Law Number 1 of 2026 concerning Criminal Adjustment and/or Article 111 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics Jo Law Number 1 of 2026 concerning Criminal Adjustment.
