Pregnant Woman Massage Therapist in Cirebon Killed, Couple Took Rp83 Thousand

Cirebon City Police, West Java, revealed the motive for the murder of a woman who worked as a call masseuse, which was triggered by the perpetrator's desire to control the victim's property worth Rp83 thousand.

Head of the Cirebon City Police AKBP Eko Iskandar said the case was revealed in less than 10 hours after the discovery of the victim's body in a boarding house on Monday (16/3) yesterday.

Police secured two perpetrators, a married couple with initials LH (26) and RK (41).

"These two perpetrators are husband and wife who we secured after being chased to the Majalengka area," said Eko as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, March 17.

According to him, the initial motive of the perpetrator was to take the victim's belongings by ordering massage services through the application.

He explained that the victim with the initials TA came to the boarding house, after being brought by a colleague who was allegedly his girlfriend.

When the victim arrived, he said, the LH perpetrator was in the room with the victim, while RK was hiding in another room.

Eko said there was a dispute between the victim and the perpetrator, which was triggered by the discrepancy between the requested service and the agreement.

"From the results of the examination, the quarrel then led to acts of violence that caused the victim to die," he said.

He revealed that the victim was eight months pregnant when the incident occurred.

Based on the results of the autopsy, continued the Police Chief, the victim died as a result of violence, with traces of strangulation on the neck and body tied with cloth.

He said that after the victim died, the two perpetrators then moved the body to the bathroom and covered it with a pile of clothes.

"The murder happened on Thursday (12/7). Then the victim's body was found on Monday (16/3)," he said.

Eko added that the perpetrator took the victim's cash of Rp83 thousand, as well as one mobile phone unit which was then sold for Rp73 thousand.

He said the two perpetrators had tried to escape using a bus, before they were finally arrested by officers.

"For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with multiple articles related to murder, premeditated murder, robbery with violence, and abuse," he said.
