KAI Strengthens Operational Mitigation of the Jabodebek LRT Ahead of the Peak of Lebaran Homecoming
JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has strengthened operational mitigation measures and the reliability of the Jabodebek LRT system ahead of the high mobility period for the community during the 2026 Lebaran Transportation period. This step is part of the operational evaluation as well as an effort to ensure that the Jabodebek LRT service continues to run safely, reliably, and on time during the Lebaran homecoming and return period.
Manager of Public Relations of the Jabodebek LRT, Radhitya Mardika, said that KAI continues to strengthen the operational system to minimize the potential for service disruptions, especially during the Lebaran Transportation period which is synonymous with increased community travel activities.
"KAI mitigates various potential operational disruptions that have occurred as a material for evaluation to further strengthen service readiness. These steps are prepared to maintain the operational reliability of the Jabodebek LRT during the Lebaran Transportation period," said Radhitya.
As a step to anticipate potential operational disruptions, LRT Jabodebek has prepared a number of mitigation steps, including:
Provision of ready-made spare parts for facilities and infrastructure. Integrated maintenance and maintenance of facilities and infrastructure. Repair and replacement of components on facilities to maintain the reliability of the train system. Periodic lubrication of the rail at small curves to maintain the quality of train travel. Inspection of the completeness and function of operating facilities and station facilities. Placement of flying gang personnel at a number of stations to speed up handling in the event of a disturbance. In addition, KAI also prepares an anticipatory step if there is an extraordinary disruption in the ticket and gate system which causes the electronic ticket service to be unable to operate. In this condition, service to users can still run through an alternative scheme in the form of the use of manual daily printed tickets.
During the period from March 18-24, 2026, the Jabodebek LRT will continue to operate to serve the public with 270 trips per day at a maximum rate of Rp. 10,000 to support public mobility during the long holiday.
To ensure optimal service to users, KAI also activated 243 frontline officers consisting of 119 Passenger Service and 124 Ticketing Officers. In addition, operational services are also supported by 527 security personnel who are tasked with maintaining the safety and comfort of users in the station area and train travel.
It was added that this readiness is part of KAI's commitment to ensure that people's travel during the Lebaran period can run smoothly.
"KAI continues to make various preparations in a comprehensive manner, both in terms of operations, services, and security, so that the public can enjoy traveling using the Jabodebek LRT safely, comfortably, and on time during the 2026 Lebaran Transportation period," concluded Radhitya.
Through the strengthening of operational mitigation, KAI hopes that the Jabodebek LRT service will continue to provide travel certainty for people who use public transportation during the 2026 Lebaran Transportation period.
