Trump Slams Hezbollah, Discusses Israel's Expansion of Operations in Southern Lebanon
JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump said he had discussed with Israel the need to expand ground operations in southern Lebanon, calling the Lebanese Hezbollah group a big problem.
"Yes, I did," Trump told reporters when asked if he had discussed the matter with Israeli leaders, as reported by ANTARA from Sputnik, Tuesday, March 17.
Trump called Hezbollah a "big problem."
In early March, Hezbollah resumed active military operations against Israel after the assassination of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
In response, the Israeli military launched an intensive attack on the southern outskirts of Beirut as well as dozens of cities and settlements in southern and eastern Lebanon.
According to official data, as many as 570 people were killed, 1,444 people were injured, and about 800,000 residents were forced to leave their homes.
