Gema Kosgoro Student Attacks BGN, Demands Investigation of Alleged Sale of SPPG Points

JAKARTA - Dozens of students who are members of the Kosgoro Student Movement (Gema) held a demonstration in front of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) office on Monday (16/3). The action started at around 14.00 WIB with a gathering point on Jalan Blora before the mass moved to the BGN office.

In the action, the students voiced a number of demands related to various alleged problems in the program run by BGN. Action coordinator, Agus Syafrudin, urged BGN to immediately investigate the alleged practice of buying and selling SPPG points that were said to have occurred in the implementation of the program.

"BGN must be transparent and thoroughly investigate the alleged sale of SPPG points that went viral on social media. We also demand a thorough audit of the alleged markup of goods and services that could potentially harm the country," said Agus in his speech.

In addition, Gema Kosgoro also asked BGN to openly open the case of alleged mass poisoning which was allegedly negligent because BGN did not require a Certificate of Sanitary Hygiene (SLHS) to occur in the implementation of programs related to food provision. According to them, a clear explanation to the public is needed so as not to cause unrest in the community.

The demonstrators carried banners and posters containing criticism of BGN's performance and called for transparency in the management of the program. The action took place with the escort of security personnel.

Agus emphasized that if BGN is unable to account for these various issues openly, then his party will urge Prabowo Subianto as President of the Republic of Indonesia to dissolve BGN.

"So that it does not become an institution that negotiates the education budget of 355 trillion, it actually creates new problems, we urge the President to evaluate and even dissolve the BGN if it is unable to answer the various allegations that arise," he said.

The student action took place in an orderly manner with the presentation of speeches in turn before the mass dispersed. The students stated that they would continue to monitor the issue until there was clarity and concrete steps from BGN.
