Bogor City DPRD Promotes Free Homecoming as a Routine Program Every Eid

BOGOR - Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the Bogor City Regional Representative Council, Abdul Rosyid, encourages the free homecoming program for Bogor City residents to be patented as a routine agenda every year before Eid al-Fitr.

According to Abdul Rosyid, the program held by the Bogor City Police has proven to be very helpful for people who want to go home without being burdened by transportation costs.

"Alhamdulillah, we fully support the free homecoming activities carried out by the Bogor City Police. This program is indeed what the community is waiting for," said Abdul Rosyid at the release of hundreds of travelers in the Bogor City Square area, Monday, March 16.

He assessed that the high enthusiasm of the residents showed that the free homecoming facility was very needed, especially for people who wanted to celebrate Eid al-Fitr with their families in their hometowns.

According to him, the existence of free transportation also helps reduce the burden of public spending ahead of the holidays which usually increase.

Therefore, Abdul Rosyid hopes that a similar program can be made an annual agenda facilitated by the local government and related institutions in Bogor City.

"We from the Bogor City DPRD hope that this can be made into one of the routine programs when approaching Eid al-Fitr to facilitate the people of Bogor City who will return home," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bogor City Police, Rio Wahyu Anggoro, explained that this year his party had prepared six bus fleets to serve two main destination routes.

A total of 300 travelers were sent to Semarang and Cilacap, each route served by three bus units.

Rio emphasized that safety was the main priority in the program. The Bogor City Police have taken a number of mitigation steps, ranging from checking the legality of the fleet to checking the health of drivers before the trip.

"The goal is to facilitate people so that they can return home safely. We also prepare takjil for participants on the way. We hope that people can gather with their families safely," he said.

Enthusiasm was also seen from the participants who crowded the departure location. One of the travelers, Ella, admitted that he was very helped by the program.

He who was going to return to Bumiayu with his family said that the free bus facility made the homecoming trip lighter in terms of cost and time.
