Here are Tips for Leaving Home when Traveling Home So that Electricity Remains Safe

JAKARTA - Ahead of the 1447 H Eid al-Fitr homecoming flow, PT PLN (Persero) appeals to customers to ensure that the electricity in the house is in a safe condition before traveling to their hometowns.

Executive Vice President of Corporate Communications and TJSL PLN, Gregorius Adi Trianto, said that customers should check the electrical installation and electronic equipment at home before leaving it for a long time during the homecoming.

"Tourism is a moment that many families are looking forward to. Before leaving, make sure the house is left in a safe condition, including electrical installations and electronic equipment. That way, customers can visit relatives more calmly without worrying," said Gregorius, Monday, March 16.

He added that this step is important to avoid short circuits or other potential disturbances caused by electrical installations in the house when left empty.

For this reason, PLN shares a number of tips to keep the electricity at home safe while being left during the Idulfitri homecoming, including:

1. Customers need to ensure that the electrical installation at home is in good condition and safe before leaving home.

2. Unplug electronic equipment from the plug to prevent unnecessary electricity flow and avoid potential power outages.

3. Turn on the lights as needed such as porch or yard lights to help maintain the security of the abandoned house. If possible, use lighting sensors so that electricity use is more efficient.

4. For postpaid electricity customers, make sure that the electricity bill has been paid before the due date to avoid fines and disconnection of electricity.

5. For prepaid electricity customers, make sure that the electricity token has been charged enough during the homecoming period so that the lights at home remain on and the kWh meter alarm does not sound.

6. If the electricity needs in the home village increase, customers can also add power as needed.

In addition, PLN also appeals to customers to use the PLN Mobile application to facilitate various electricity service needs before and during the homecoming.

Through the PLN Mobile application, customers can make electricity token purchases, pay electricity bills, submit new installation services, add power, and submit electricity disruption complaints more easily.

"PLN continues to provide convenience to its loyal customers, through the PLN Mobile application all electricity services can be accessed in one hand, anytime and anywhere. If there are electricity disruptions or complaints, just report it through the application, and PLN officers will immediately follow up," said Gregorius.
