Remind Officials Not to Corrupt Ahead of Eid al-Fitr, Deputy for Enforcement of the KPK: We Will Not Go Home!

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that the prosecution of alleged corruption continued even though the 1447 Hijriah Eid al-Fitr was just a short time away. Officials, especially regional heads, are reminded to be careful not to be caught in the hands-on-hands operation (OTT).

This was conveyed by the Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK, Asep Guntur Rahayu, who stated that his agency would not be negligent of corrupt behavior.

"Don't think that because of Eid we will continue to go home and allow corruption to occur in the future," said Asep, quoted from the KPK RI YouTube, Monday, March 16.

"We will continue to be present to take action if they are still stubborn in committing corruption crimes," continued the former KPK Investigation Director.

Furthermore, the investigators are also ensured that they will continue to work. "So don't think that maybe the investigators will go home, no," said Asep.

Regarding this enforcement action, Asep said, it was inspired by many professions that still work on holidays including journalists.

In addition, the action taken is also a consequence if the prevention carried out is not carried out by the state organizer.

"They have been given warnings, they have been given circular letters, but they still do it like that. It is our duty to take action."

For information, the KPK has carried out three OTT during the month of Ramadan 1447 Hijriah and ensnared three regional heads. They are the Regent of Pekalongan Fadia Arafiq, the Regent of Rejang Lebong Muhammad Fikri Thobari, and the Regent of Cilacap Syamsul Auliya Rachman.

From the silent operation, the Regent of Pekalongan Fadia Arafiq was named a suspect in alleged corruption in the procurement of outsourcing services and other procurements in the Pekalongan Regency Government on March 3.

Next, the KPK named Rejang Lebong Regent M. Fikri Thobari as a suspect in the ijon project bribe on March 10. Finally, the anti-corruption commission also named the Regent of Cilacap as a suspect for alleged extortion for the provision of holiday allowances (THR) and other receipts.
