Facing Lebaran Homecoming, DKI PMI Places 14 Health Posts at Terminals, Stations to Tourist Spots

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) DKI Jakarta has prepared 14 health posts at strategic points during the 2026 Lebaran homecoming and return period. These posts are on alert at terminals, stations, ports, docks, to recreational areas that are expected to be crowded during the Idulfitri holiday.

The Chairman of the DKI Jakarta Provincial PMI, Beky Mardani, said that the health post was placed in locations that became the point of movement of the community during the homecoming season.

"In detail, the PMI health post is located at six bus terminals, namely Grogol Terminal, Kalideres Terminal, Tanjung Priok Terminal, Pulogebang Terminal, Lebak Bulus Terminal and Kampung Rambutan Terminal. Then at three train stations, namely Pasar Senen Station, Gambir Station and Tanah Abang Station," said Beky Mardani in his statement, Monday, March 16.

In addition to terminals and stations, PMI also places health posts in port and dock areas. The location is at Tanjung Priok Port, Untung Jawa Island Pier, and Tidung Island Pier.

Meanwhile, to anticipate the need for health services in the recreation area, PMI opened a post in the Setu Babakan tourist area and the Ragunan Wildlife Park. These two locations are expected to be the destination of Jakarta residents who do not return home, as well as people who fill the Lebaran holiday in the city.

Beky explained that the PMI health post service took place from H-7 to H+7 Eid al-Fitr. During this period, PMI alerted hundreds of personnel in turn at each post.

He said that there were 122 personnel deployed per shift. They consisted of doctors, nurses, and PMI volunteers.

The services that are prepared include ambulances, first aid, to health checks for travelers or visitors who need medical assistance on site.

The available health examinations include blood sugar, cholesterol, and uric acid or GCU. This service is prepared to help detect early public health conditions during travel or activities at crowded points.

"To support this health examination service, PMI has received support from the GEA Medical medical device company in the form of 2,000 GCU examination tool packages," he said.

In addition to health examination tools, PMI also distributed 900 First Aid Kit packages to PMI health posts at the city and district levels in the DKI Jakarta region. Each region received 150 packages to support the readiness of field officers.

The contents of the package include masks, Tolak Angin, vitamin C, wound plaster, eucalyptus oil, wet tissues, travel hangover medicine, and facial tissues. The equipment is prepared for the needs of initial treatment that is commonly encountered during the homecoming and Lebaran holidays.

PMI hopes that the existence of this health post can accelerate handling if there are health complaints or emergency conditions in the midst of community mobility.

"Through the establishment of this health post, PMI hopes to help provide a sense of safety and comfort for people who travel home or travel during the Eid holiday, as well as ensure that people get access to first aid quickly if there are health emergencies in crowded locations," explained Beky.
