Responding To Indonesia Vs Thailand Draw, Shin Tae-yong: They Worked Hard Until The End
JAKARTA - The coach of the Indonesian national team, Shin Tae-yong, wants to give applause as a form of appreciation to his foster children who managed to draw 2-2 against Thailand in the Asian zone 2022 World Cup Qualification Group G match in Dubai.
"I want to applaud the players. They worked hard until the end", Shin said after the match, quoted by Antara from PSSI's official statement in Jakarta, Friday.
The South Korean tactician was pleased with the unyielding mentality of Evan Dimas and his friends.
They were able to force a draw against Thailand even though they were left behind twice. In fact, the majority of Indonesian players have little experience competing with the senior national team.
Of the 11 first Indonesian national team players, 10 of them are debutants in the official FIFA tournament with the senior national team. Only Evan Dimas has ever tasted FIFA tournaments before.
Evan Dimas is indeed the most experienced player in the current national team with 25 appearances for the Garuda squad before the match against Thailand. He was appointed as captain by Shin.
"So on the field, only Evan Dimas has experience in the senior national team. Even so, all the players showed enthusiasm and worked hard until the match was over," said Shin.
Meanwhile, Evan Dimas said that the draw when meeting Thailand could not be separated from the cooperation of all parties, from coaches to players
The 26-year-old footballer also thanked the coach and his colleagues.
"Thank you also to the Indonesian people who always pray for us. Hopefully, we will get better results in the next match," said Evan.
Goals from I Kadek Agung and Evan Dimas brought the Indonesian national team to balance Thailand with a score of 2-2 in the 2022 World Cup Qualification Group G match at Al Maktoum Stadium, Dubai, Thursday, June 3 evening local time.

Thailand won 1-0 from the fifth minute thanks to a goal from Narubodin Weerawatnodom. Kadek made a 1-1 draw in the 39th minute.
In the 50th minute of the second half, Thailand took the lead again via Adisak Kraisorn's header, then Evan Dimas again forced the score to draw with his goal 10 minutes later.
One point from the match became Indonesia's first point in Group G of the 2022 World Cup Qualification in the Asian zone because in the previous five matches they had always lost to their opponents.
Next in Group G, the Indonesian national team must pass two final matches, namely against Vietnam, Monday, June 7, and the host United Arab Emirates, Friday, June 11.
