Iran Holds 500 Spies including Attack Data Providers
JAKARTA - Iran has detained "500 spies" working for "enemies" and "anti-Iranian media," including those who provided data for attacks on Iran.
"Iran has detained 500 spies, who send information to the enemy and anti-Iranian media," said the head of Iranian security Ahmad Reza Radan, as reported by ANTARA from Sputnik, Monday, March 16.
Radan explained that 250 of those detained provided information about the attack, and "have ties to certain groups, as well as attempting to disrupt public order."
Iran has attacked Israeli territory and US military targets in the Middle East in retaliation for a joint military operation launched by the US and Israel on February 28.
The first day of the military action resulted in the overthrow of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khameneigugur, and a girls' school in southern Iran was also destroyed after being bombed by US forces.
Iran estimates the death toll to be more than 1,300.
