PLN Starts to Supply Electricity to Flood Survivors in Nagan Raya
JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) Customer Service Unit (ULP) Jeurammulai has normalized the flow of electricity to a number of temporary residential points (huntara) for residents affected by flooding in Beutong Ateuh Banggalang District, Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh.
"This connection process is carried out gradually, as the physical construction of the building is completed," said PLN ULP Manager JeuramSyamsul Rizal as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 16.
Although the construction process of the huntara has not reached 100 percent, his party is committed to immediately turning on the electricity in the units that are ready to be inhabited.
"We immediately turned on the positions that were completed gradually," he said.
He said that the distribution of electricity in the Beutong Ateuh Banggalang District, Nagan Raya, includes two categories of buildings, namely independent huntara, which are buildings that are established by the community.
Then the BNPB huntara, namely the assistance building facilitated by the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), including the communal building unit (one building with five doors).
Syamsul said his party continued to coordinate regarding village data and the number of units ready to be supplied with electricity. At this time, the main focus is also directed at providing electricity networks in evacuation locations that are still using tents.
"For those who are displaced (tents), they are also in the process of building networks," he added.
His party continues to work to ensure that all affected residents immediately have access to decent electricity, by normalizing the electricity flow to the huntara location.
The process of connecting is carried out gradually as the construction of the housing units is completed.
Based on data from the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Nagan Raya Regency, currently 379 families in Beutong Ateuh Banggalang District are still living in evacuation tents because they are still waiting for the construction process of the huntara, which is currently being carried out by BNPB through each vendor.
Some of the refugees in the area are currently still relying on makeshift lighting facilities at night, because the government is still trying to improve the electricity network, including supplying the electricity network to the huntara location, which is currently under construction.
