16.013 Units of Vehicles Crossing to Sumatra via Ciwandan Port

JAKARTA - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 Banten recorded 16,013 vehicles had crossed to Sumatra Island through Ciwandan Port, Cilegon, until H-6 Lebaran 2026.

General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Banten, Benny Ariadi, said that in addition to tens of thousands of vehicles, a total of 20,698 passengers had been served through 115 vessel calls.

"Operation until H-6 Lebaran Transport 2026 runs well and conducive. We continue to monitor traffic movements in real time to ensure that service to service users remains optimal by serving wholeheartedly," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 16.

Based on the detailed cumulative data, the total vehicles that crossed consisted of 8,144 units of motorcycles and 7,869 units of logistics trucks. For this daily movement, there were 6,524 vehicles that passed, indicating an increase in activity at the port.

Pelindo ensures that all operational facilities, ranging from optimizing waiting areas (buffer areas), readiness of piers, to supporting facilities such as health posts and rest areas, are maintained in a state of readiness.

Synergy with ship operators, port authorities, and security personnel continues to be strengthened to anticipate the dynamics of vehicle traffic, which is predicted to continue to increase towards the peak of the homecoming flow.

"We appeal to all service users to continue to follow the instructions of field officers and prepare their journeys well so that the crossing process takes place safely, comfortably, and orderly," concluded Benny.
