US: War Against Iran Will End in a Few Weeks

JAKARTA - US Energy Minister Chris Wright said the war against Iran would end in a few weeks.

The statement provided the US government's most certain estimate of time since the US-Israeli joint attack on Iran began on February 28.

"This conflict will end in the next few weeks," Wright told ABC News, adding that the conflict "could be sooner than that."

As reported by ANTARA from Anadolu, Monday, March 16, Wright said Americans would continue to feel the impact of rising gas prices for weeks to come. However, conditions are expected to improve after the conflict ends, although he said "there is absolutely no guarantee in war."

He described the short-term disruption as a risk that must be faced.

Wright's statement comes as the US-Israeli joint offensive against Iran since February 28 has killed more than 1,200 people, including Iran's then-supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Iran retaliated with drones and missiles targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, as well as Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
