AirAsia Indonesia Posts Revenue of IDR 7.87 Trillion in 2025
JAKARTA - PT AirAsia Indonesia Tbk (AAID/CMPP) recorded revenue of IDR 7.87 trillion throughout 2025, while reducing losses by around 15 percent compared to 2025.
"This improvement in performance reflects the airline's operational strengthening amid the aviation industry dynamics which still face operational cost challenges and exchange rate fluctuations," said AirAsia Indonesia President Director Achmad Sadikin Abdurachman as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, March 15.
Throughout 2025, through its subsidiary Indonesia AirAsia, he said the company transported 5.91 million passengers with a seat load factor (load factor) of 83 percent across its entire flight network.
Chair sales contributed the most to revenue with a value of IDR 6.62 trillion.
Meanwhile, ancillary revenue such as baggage, in-flight services, cargo, charters, and other services reached IDR 1.25 trillion or increased by 3 percent compared to 2024.
Operational performance in 2025 was also influenced by a temporary decrease in flight capacity in line with aircraft maintenance schedules as part of the airline's operational safety and reliability standards.
The maintenance program has an impact on reducing the capacity of seats available during certain periods throughout the year.
In addition, the depreciation of the US dollar by around 3.8 percent also pressured operating costs which are mostly based on foreign currencies.
However, the company managed to reduce the cost per available seat kilometre (CASK) by 1.4 percent compared to 2024 through various efficiency measures.
"Throughout 2025, we are focusing on strengthening flight connectivity while maintaining operational efficiency. These efforts have enabled Indonesia AirAsia to reduce losses amid the challenges of the aviation industry, which is still facing operational cost pressures," said Achmad.
In 2025, Indonesia AirAsia also expanded its flight network through the opening of a number of strategic routes, both international and domestic.
The international routes that were opened included Bali-Darwin, Bali-Adelaide, and Surabaya-Don Mueang (Bangkok).
Meanwhile, domestically, the company opened the Jakarta-Manado, Surabaya-Balikpapan, Balikpapan-Tarakan, and Balikpapan-Berau routes to strengthen inter-regional connectivity.
To strengthen performance in 2026, he said Indonesia AirAsia continued to expand its flight network. In the first quarter of 2026, the airline opened new routes to Melbourne, Australia, as well as Da Nang, Vietnam, all of which are served via Bali.
"The strengthening of Bali's role as an international hub is expected to bring more foreign tourists to Indonesia while expanding flight connectivity to various international destinations," said Achmad.
On the domestic side, the airline is also expanding its flight network connecting Surabaya, Makassar, Palu, Luwuk, and Kendari in early 2026 with Makassar as a virtual hub to expand connectivity to various regions in eastern Indonesia.
All Indonesia AirAsia routes are also connected to AirAsia Group's Fly-Thru service which allows passengers to continue their journey to more than 150 destinations within the AirAsia Group network in various countries.
