Banten Governor Ensures Access to Merak Road Has Been Improved
BANTEN - Banten Governor, Andra Soni, has ensured that the main access to the Merak Port, including the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road and arterial roads, has been completed to repair to welcome the peak of the Lebaran 1447 Hijriah homecoming.
The certainty was conveyed by the Governor after coordinating with Forkopimda and toll road managers at the Banten Provincial State Building, Serang, Sunday, March 15.
Handling damaged and potholed roads is a priority so as not to hinder the flow of vehicles to the crossing port.
"We appreciate the quick action of the toll road managers and the district/city governments in repairing road damage. The Tangerang-Merak route is the main artery leading to Merak and other strategic areas that must be in a stable condition," said Andra as quoted by Antara.
Andra explained that improvements at a number of crucial points that had previously been complained about by the public have now been completed. This step was taken to ensure the smooth distribution of logistics and the comfort of travelers, which is predicted to increase significantly this year.
"Alhamdulillah, the implementation of road repairs can run well. The synergy between the provincial, district, city, and private governments is the key to providing the best service for the community," he added.
In addition to asphalt repairs, the Governor also highlighted the readiness of access to tourist destinations such as Anyer and Tanjung Lesung. He asked for coordination between agencies to continue to be strengthened so that information regarding road conditions and traffic engineering can be communicated well to tourists.
To anticipate technical obstacles and potential disasters, the Banten Provincial Government has activated the Disaster Preparedness Post in the center of the city of Serang. A total of 646 BPBD personnel have also been deployed to 51 strategic posts, including traffic-prone and damaged routes.
The Governor hopes that with the road conditions that have been fully repaired, the risk of accidents can be suppressed as much as possible. He also appealed to travelers to remain vigilant and follow the instructions of officers in the field for the sake of safety.
