Waskita Says Changes in the Face of Flood Waters Trigger Damage to Kayuagung Toll Road

JAKARTA - Waskita Karya said that the change in the water level of the 50-year flood and the number of overloaded vehicles were the triggers for the damage to the Kayuagung - Palembang Toll Road.

"The change in the face of the 50-year flood water and the number of overloaded vehicles has triggered the damage to the Kayuagung-Palembang Toll Road," said Palembang-Kayuagung Toll Operations Manager Sapto Hari Mukti in Palembang, South Sumatra, Sunday.

He said that even at kilometer 345 - 349, his party had increased the height so that the change in the flood face was not the same as the toll road.

He emphasized that the Palembang-Kayuagung Toll Road was targeted to be completed by April 2027 with almost all toll roads, namely at kilometer 330 - 367.

His party is making efforts to ensure the best and most possible improvement, then the improvement is adjusted based on design and planning.

Although still under repair, but welcoming the 2026 homecoming, his party continues to make improvements.

"In order to welcome the Lebaran 2026 holiday period, PT Waskita Sriwijaya Tol (WST) as the manager of the Kayuagung-Palembang Toll Road ensures full readiness in terms of infrastructure, operations, and services to road users," he said.

This readiness is part of the company's commitment to providing excellent service, as well as ensuring that the public can enjoy safe, comfortable, and smooth travel during the Lebaran homecoming and return flow.

"In addition, we also provide a 10 percent discount a day before the 30 percent discount is valid and H+8 Eid," he said.
