Kapolda Kaltara Ensure Travelers are Safe, Directly Check Checkpoints and Transportation Points in Tarakan
TARAKAN - Ahead of the Lebaran homecoming flow, the North Kalimantan Police Chief (Kaltara), Inspector General of Police Djati Wiyoto Abadhy, directly monitored the readiness of security at a number of major transportation gates in Tarakan, Friday (13/3/2026).
This review is carried out to ensure that travelers who want to return home can travel safely and comfortably during Ramadan until Eid al-Fitr.
Accompanied by the Head of the Kaltara Regional Bhayangkari and the ranks of the main officials of the Kaltara Police, the Police Chief started checking at the Tengkayu I SDF Tarakan Port, then continued to the Malundung Tarakan Port, and finally at the Juwata Tarakan International Airport. The three locations are the main routes for community mobility in North Kalimantan during the homecoming season.
At each location, the Police Chief not only checked the readiness of the Security Post (Pos Pam), Service Post (Pos Yan), and Integrated Post, but also took the time to interact with officers and the community who were traveling.
The Police Chief said the presence of the police at transportation points was a form of the National Police's commitment to provide a sense of security to the public who celebrate Eid al-Fitr with their families.
"The National Police is present in the community to ensure that all activities during the holy month of Ramadan until Eid al-Fitr run safely and orderly. We want people to be able to go home calmly and safely to their hometowns," said Inspector General Djati.
He revealed that security was not only focused on the potential for criminal interference, but also on the smooth flow of traffic and services for travelers, especially in locations that are the main transportation hubs.
"Direct supervision in the field is an important step to ensure that all personnel are ready and that service facilities for travelers can function optimally," said the former Metro Jaya Police Chief.
The Police Chief hopes that the strengthened security at various strategic points for the homecoming and return flow of Lebaran in the Indonesian border area can run smoothly, safely, and bring happiness to the travelers.
"Hopefully, people can celebrate the victory day with happiness with their families, without security disturbances during the trip," he concluded. (
