Ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H, PLN Arranges 673 SPKLU and Personnel at Jakarta Vital Point
JAKARTA - Ahead of the 1447 H Eid al-Fitr celebration, PT PLN (Persero) Distribution Unit (UID) Greater Jakarta provides assurance of comfort for residents of the capital city. Electricity supply in the Jakarta area and its surroundings is ensured to be safe, reliable, and even surplus during the homecoming and Lebaran 2026 period.
General Manager of PLN UID Jakarta Raya, Moch. Andy Adchaminoerdin, emphasized that their main focus is to maintain vital points, both for residents celebrating Lebaran in Jakarta and those who are on their way home.
"Our main task is to ensure that people can enjoy electricity safely and without interruption. Currently, the electricity supply for Greater Jakarta is still in surplus condition," said Andy when met at the Media Briefing for the Preparation of the 2026 Eid al-Fitr Electricity Supply and Breaking the Fast Together, the PLN UID Jakarta Raya office, Gambir, Friday, March 13.
Focus on Vital Objects and Istiqlal Mosque
Not only maintaining the cable network, PLN also deployed personnel to be on standby at strategic locations. Some of the main monitoring points include transportation centers such as Gambir Station, Pasar Senen Station, Tanjung Priok Port, to Halim Perdanakusuma Airport.

In addition, the spiritual side is also not left out of attention. PLN has identified around 590 mosques that will receive special electricity reliability support. Istiqlal Mosque is a top priority considering that the largest mosque in Southeast Asia will be the location of the Id Salat for the President (RI 1) and state officials.
"A few days ago we checked directly to the Istiqlal Mosque. We want to ensure that the electricity supply there is stable so that the Salat Id can run smoothly without technical obstacles," added Andy.
Safe Homecoming with 673 SPKLU Points
For owners of electric vehicles (EV) who plan to return home, PLN has good news. A total of 673 points of Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) have been alerted in various strategic locations under the auspices of UID Jakarta Raya.
Not only providing charging units, PLN also established a standby post at SPKLU points that are predicted to be crowded with travelers, such as in the Gambir area, KM 10 Rest Area, KM 6, to the Bintaro direction.
"Electric car users don't need to worry. Our charging points are very numerous and widespread," he said optimistically.
Challenges Behind the Reduction of Electricity Charges
A unique phenomenon occurs in Jakarta every Lebaran season: the electricity load actually decreases drastically. If on weekdays the peak load averages 5,000 megawatts, during Lebaran this figure is predicted to drop to 2,000 megawatts because of the absence of travelers.
However, Andy explained that low load does not mean that officers can relax. In fact, this condition requires extra supervision because the electrical system must remain stable when consumption patterns change drastically.
To anticipate this, PLN has deployed 17 technical teams spread across various regions, supported by a central standby post at the UID Jakarta Raya office.
"We remain on full alert. Even though the burden has decreased, our vigilance remains high to ensure that Jakarta remains bright during the holidays," he concluded.
