Global Threat Complexity Places the Indonesian Army on a Wider and Multidimensional Assignment Spectrum
JAKARTA - The complexity of current global and regional threats places the Indonesian Army in a wider and multidimensional spectrum of assignments, requiring the Indonesian Army to continue to be adaptive, said Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army (Wakasad) Lieutenant General TNI Muhammad Saleh Mustafa, Friday.
This was conveyed by Wakasad when leading the ceremony for the acceptance of the TNI Army Junior Officer (Paja) First Education Officer (Dikmapa) Regular Career Officer (PK), Special Program, and Cyber Fiscal Year 2026 at the Army Headquarters Field (Mabesad), Jakarta.
A total of 584 Paja participated in the reception ceremony this time, consisting of 327 Paja PK TNI Regular, 125 Paja PK Special Programs (Abituren UNHAN, STIN, and PSSN), 25 Paja PK Cyber Special Programs, and 107 Paja PK other Special Programs.
Reading the written mandate of the Chief of Staff of the Army (Kasad) General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak, the Deputy Chief of Staff said that the young officers are the next generation who will play an important role in maintaining the sovereignty of the country and carrying out the duty of service to the nation and state.
Kasad emphasized that the current global dynamics are moving faster and are difficult to predict, so it requires the TNI AD to continue to adapt to the development of threats and advances in defense technology.
State defense no longer relies solely on combat power that is symmetrical, but also faces various dimensions of asymmetric threats that require an increase in the quality of human resources, precision of strategies, and mastery of modern technology.
"The complexity of global and regional threats that are increasingly unpredictable, ranging from unpredictable wars, cyber disruptions, to geopolitical dynamics full of uncertainty, places the TNI AD on a much broader and multidimensional spectrum of assignments," quoted Wakasad, launching the information service of the TNI AD, Saturday (14/3).
At the end of his message, Kasad advised the Paja to be able to apply the knowledge they have gained during their education to solve various problems in the unit, cultivate a culture of innovation, and continue to work in carrying out their service duties. He emphasized that the success of an officer is not only measured by the position achieved, but by the positive impact that can be given to members, units, and society.
This reception ceremony is a tradition that marks the joining of young officers from the PK Dikmapa education into the large family of the Army, as well as the beginning of their service as future leaders in the TNI AD environment.
In the series of ceremonies, the oath-taking of officers was also carried out, represented by two Junior Officers, one from the Paja man and one from the Army Women's Corps (Kowad).
